Christmas time in Berlin

Advent in Europe is the time for Christmas markets. The history of Christmas markets goes back to the late Middle Ages and it’s related with the German-speaking part of the Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the French region of Alsace on the border with Germany). In the present days the tradition spread to other parts of the Europe, e.g. Belgium, Northern Italy, England, Baltic States and Slavic countries. German immigrants also brought the Christmas market celebrations to the United States.

Today Berlin claims over 70 Christmas markets (in German: Weihnachtsmarkt), which open in late November and close just after Christmas. How do they look like? 😀

  3. Thanks for taking me to Berlin for Christmas, Isabella. You can’t imagine how much I’d love to be in Europe at this time of year. I love Europe and I miss it badly sometimes. I’ve been in Berlin last fall for a couple of days but I’ll have to go back for a more in depth visit.

    • Anda, you are welcomed to Europe any time you wish to visit us again! 🙂
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Wish you many beautiful and safe journeys! 🙂

Jeśli zorganizujesz jakieś porządne atrakcje to przybędę.
      Pozdrowienia serdeczne!
